Was placed here by council till they could find me suitable accommodation. Yes the place could do with a slight update BUT the staff more than make up for any short falls some could find. They staff here are amazing, super friendly, extremely helpful (beyond words) and the atmosphere is also great. Would 100% recommend staying here, rooms are always clean and beds are very comfy. Can't fault the staff at all (know I've already praised them but it really isn't enough to say how amazing they really are). At one point I even needed to change rooms as they were doing some work on the room I was in and the girls helped me by moving all my things (and seen as I'd moved in here there was quite a few things to move).

I noticed some reviews here seem quite personal, which set certain expectations for me, but my experience turned out to be pleasantly different. The warm hospitality from Sue, Lisa, and Carla, along with the delicious food and welcoming atmosphere, exceeded what I had anticipated. After a long day of meetings, I enjoyed a restful night’s sleep, which made my stay even more memorable. Thank you for such a unique and wonderful experience—I look forward to returning!

Nice place but need to be careful iff you walk a couple of the paths on the industrial estate as there is a lot of broken glass.Hotel staff were friendly and food was nice.

Stayed here for 2 weeks while the council repaired my property. Good points : location was good near to lots of shops and transport links. Staff were friendly and accommodating and food (breakfast) was yummy. Room was clean and housekeeping efficient only downside was the smell in the en-suite bathroom. I asked staff to put an air freshener in there but sadly had to buy my own. Apart from that if you close the bathroom door after use the smell is minimal. The traffic can be noisy at night given the nearby motorway but if you close the window it’s hardly noticeable. Overall a pleasant stay and I’d recommend to others 4 out of 5 stars

I was made homeless at the end of July.and given the hotel as temp accommodation.im not going to lie.i was so scared.id lived in my previous property for nearly 18yrs.i wasn’t even going to except it.from the day i arrived its been an absolute pleasure.ive not got one bad thing to say about anything.even staff members.even the cooks.cleaners.maintenance man.and the manager Tracey has been so kind to me.they don’t judge you or your situation.my mental health was left absolutely out of control.the staff made me feel safe at all times.even the night staff.i read the reviews n was so worried.im forever grateful for all of the care I’ve received during my stay.for nearly 12 weeks.ive now got my own property.and i feel sad to leave now.would highly recommend this hotel.and I would like to thank everyone .

Nice layout of rooms and good car park. However mine, and my friends room had a bit of an odour to them and I think it was the carpet which was pretty grim and felt a bit damp in places. I also got flea bites on my ankle and when I mentioned it to the receptionist in case they wanted to act on it she was rudely dismissive.

A scruffy run down looking site. "Rooms" are 2 story cabins with a great view of the carpark.

Just want to come on here and say how lovely campanile is, rooms are ok but very homey and the staff are absolutely wonderful. Can’t thank them enough as they went out of their way on several occasions. Issy at reception is one of the kindest people I’ve met, hope he’s there next time I stay! Thank you all again P.S the food is amazing<3

Don't stay in this hotel unless you like the thought of staying in a concentration camp! The buildings and rooms are so out of date and rundown it dosnt even deserve 2 stars. It's also being used to house people whilst they await proper housing which they do not mention anywhere.

My brother was placed in this accommodation by Basildon council as a stop gap and end up being kept there for 10 months. The rooms are outdated and basic but are clean and beds are comfortable enough. We found the majority of the staff to be absolutely exceptional and couldn’t do enough for you, in fact they actually on several occasions went WELL above and beyond, especially Sue Mitch Robin Lisa Jackie Carla Isaac and ALL the cleaners and ground workers. But unfortunately during the 10 month stay on several occasions he felt that one staff member went out of her way to make him feel uncomfortable even to a point where she would aggressively bang on the room door before 9:30am to demand upfront payments for the pet charge (that was always previously paid daily at £15 per day due to not knowing what day he would be leaving) this person swore at my brother and made ridicules false allegations which is beyond unprofessional and threatening. My brother is currently being treated for cancer and is extremely vulnerable. He never once had a single complaint especially regarding his behaviour and he really got on so well with all the staff. Having spoken to other residents regarding this particular staff member nichola, the opinionated was the same across the board that she is extremely intimidating and a bully.

Rooms are ok but very hot , very basic but for the money it was ok, all staff excellent. Was disappointed I had to pay extra for my dog as I had already paid when I booked and wasn't told extra for dogs

Here as homeless, as are many others here. The food in the restaurant is overpriced and not all that. There are no fridges in the rooms, no where to cook, only a kettle with paper cups. Worst place I've ever stayed. Hostels & other hotels are much better than this place.

Great hotel with a good selection between the continental and cooked breakfast.
Selling point is the staff though, they’re all fantastic and very happy to help with any queries or problems.
Very conveniently placed alongside the A127.
